SOME FOLKS CALL THIS \" POOR MAN\'S COMMITTEE \"ON the valves my trusted Holton go to guy said this \"getting the brass, nickle-silver, nickel plated valve (as in yours) was an advance that was only used on the premium and/or special orders at first...and later, due to their durability and eventual need to compete with Conn, Olds, Buescher etc. , they went to \'silver\' valves exclusively. My finest Revelation, the .470 bore, has the nickel plated valves and they are as slick as any Olds or Getzen\'s for that matter. At 85 years old they look and perform, respectively, as good as and better than new.
-I snaked out all slides.
-cleaned chambers.
-cleaned valves.
-polished every area with silver polish.
-valves/caps and serial number on trumpet match.
Except top cover on 2 looks to be a replacement but a damn good one.
-felt good.

I believe it is a model 45 with the smaller bell than the 48.
-Comes with a brand new gig bag.
No finger hook but slide 3 very smooth. I looked but did not find a finger hook that fit. You can buy one for 6 to 8 bucks or cheaper if used etc.GIG READY
I did the below tests on valves !
AS far assideplay when you joggle the valve stems
half way down.
VIRTUALLY No SLOP...if you really push them side to side maybe tiny movementSlides good pop
I checked the compression by
removingthe slides and putting the valves all the way down.
Then I put my finger over the removedslide openings and blew relatively Hard.
Valve 1 NO air
Valve 2 NO air
Valve3 tiny air
I checked full air by putting down all valves and taking off slide one and blew moderately hard
NO air
So My conclusion is the compression is GREAT for an old old Trumpet !!
Pro\'s will tell you also...\" how it sounds is the most important thing !!

These Holton brass, nickle-silver, nickel plated valves are very well made according to my Holton horn go to guy Joe !
He said they are even better than the copper ones. There are a few light scratches at very top top on valve one and two.
Does not affect the play at all. In fact I am being very picky but I report all I see. Blow up pic 5 and see if you can even see.
Even the tuning mech is in place and the lock screws present ( rare for screws to be there SEE PIC 8 ) When you slide the little bar in and out to lock it is a a bit stiff. I put some slide grease on it but did not want to mess with it too much, it is set about right for proper tuning !

I am a guitar/blues harp/reed man more than a brass man but the horn
played very easy cleantone for me.
I can\'t really go real hi so Ican\'t tell you how it plays way up hi !!
The valves responded for me well.
This comes with a no mouthpiece
