Vintage US Divers ABS Scuba Triple 30CF-3000 PSI tanks, triple manifold w K Valve
This is the tank set up for the U.S. Divers Advanced Breathing System made in 1987-88. Three Luxfer tanks 30CF 3000psi, the tanks manufactured in 1987 in good condition and the valve turns freely. They have the rare triple tank manifold with K-valve that everyone wants. 90 CF of air in a compact low profile design. The manifold will be removed from the tanks to protect the pieces from damage while shipping.
Condition:Looks to be in good condition, would need a visual inspection and hydro to be filled by a dive shop. These would have to be gone over by a certified diving technician before use underwater and the tank O-rings look good but your would probably want to clean and re-grease them. They came apart rather easy. Could also be filled by a tank to tank whip which are sold on . Sold as pictured and described all sales final.
More Information about the ABS:
The same technology developed by U.S. Diver engineers for the Cousteau teams’ “Rediscovery of the the World” tour is now available to the sport diver. The abs features a low profile triple cylinder design with a forged one piece manifold that has the comparable weight and better buoyancy characteristics than and 80CF cylinder. The DOT approved cylinder provide 90CF of air at 3000 PSI and the U.S. Divers “K”Valve features and offset handle for easy turn on/off operations. The high impact U/V stabilized thermoplastic shell is hydronamically designed to allow minimal resistance through the water with self draining vents so water and air can’t be trapped. The comfortable Alpine –style backpack connects the ABS to all current U.S. Divers Buoyancy compensators with an easy to use manually operated anchor system insuring positive retention. The molded-in colors, available in silver and blue, allowing th unit to resist premature aging and coordinate with U.S. Divers B.C.’s, wet suits and accessories. (1987 U.S. DIVERS CATALOG)

This is what the tanks look like in Advanced Breathing System Thermoplastic shell. Although you would need to find the case which we just sold and the bands that keep the tanks all together and a vintage US Divers BC from this era to make it all work. If you can find the other parts of this system, there are many advantages of the ABS over the U.S. Divers UDS-1, it uses a normal regulator, its better balanced, its lighter weight, with its heavy rubber tank boot makes the base a lot more durable, does not require special maintenance or specialized tanks and its a snap to remove the tank set up from the shell.
