Vintage Loom Flying Shuttle Weaving Wooden & Metal Tool
For your consideration is this vintage loom shuttle used by weavers and is made of wood and metal. It is fully intact and could still be used!It measures 16\" long, 1 7/8\" wide, and 1 1/4\" deep. The shuttle has steel point caps on each end, a bobbin to hold the thread (which is spring loaded to pop up for loading) and a metal mechanism for threading. Not being a weaver myself, I\'m not certain of these part uses. There are the following markings on this piece: The Letter S with strike through and the Number \"125\", \"M266829 x\", and another S with the strike trough again on the back side.It is in good condition , the spring load mechanism works very well. The flying shuttle was one of the key developments in weaving that helped fuel the Industrial Revolution. Industrial and rustic, yet artistic. A truly interesting piece to display or use! The photos are part of the description and I include many photos to show all aspects of the piece. The determination regarding the age, maker, etc. particularly on unmarked pieces, should be evaluated and confirmed by the buyer, and all questions should be asked prior to offerding. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will be happy to send you more detailed photos if needed.
