VINTAGE WWII era Mercer St. Albans, England Brass Bulkhead Clock -APW 6578 -NICE: $159.99
You are offerding on a VINTAGE maritime clock. This particular clock is a (Thomas) Mercer clock. Believe this was called a zigzag clock or convoy clock. The markings on the clock\'s face show Mercer - St. Albans England and the OCTO logo within the star. The casing/housing is brass. The glass is beveled and is in excellent condition. The clock is marked with: A.P.W. 6578, Serial No. M.V. 117. Per this serial number, I believe this to be 1942 and WWII era. This clock also has the electrical connectors on top. These connectors were used to give a signal once the minute handle passed a designated marker - thus allowing for course changes (and noted as a zigzag clock). Condition: GREAT - glass is in excellent condition. Brass is very nice - some aging but no major dings, no dents or major scratches. Face of clock has some minor wear. Clock run fines - a tad slow. I monitored this clock for over 8 hours and it \'lost\' 3 minutes or so. I have not tried to make any adjustments to this clock. The clock, per the back, was last serviced 3 years ago. Comes with key - not sure if the key is original or not - marked \'India\'. Very nice piece of history, here\'s the rest of the details: Dimensions: Face - 7\" across, 8\" across at brass rim. 9-1/2\" across at the back of the clock. 4\" tall/deep. Weight: 5.3 pounds Any questions, please ask. Happy offerding!!
