This instrument does have blemishes which I did not try to clean off, in fear of ruining the natural color of the wood. There are blemishes and scratches. I would imagine it could be cleaned up by someone who has experience. The widest part measures approximately 15” across, 7 1/2” across and the side 9”. there is a smeared marking on back and the best I could tell possibly “made in USSR”I try to describe the best I can, Please any questions do not hesitate to email me….good luck!
