Cold temperatures can be hard on old glass or ceramics.To avoid thermal shock, do not handle it right away on arrival. Instead, just open the box and let it warm up slowly for at least a couple of hours,even overnight.Do not even unwrap it.Thermal shock occurs when something warm, such as your hand, touches a cold object, resulting in breakage. Why take a chance?
