This listing is for a wonderful 1930\'s Noma Christmas chrome tree topper. It still has the original paper label that gives the patent number, which dates to 1933. It is made from chromed metal , and is bright and clean, with just a slight bit of surface soil and scratches. There is no corrosion or damage. It has a cord that has a light type plug on the end, meant to be added to a string of lights as a "bulb". For a string of lights, this plugs into a socket meant for a bulb. The topper has five bulb sockets, and comes with 15 Mazda bulbs. These are the thin ridged flame style buibs. The topper, and all the sockets and bulbs are C6 - the small candelabra size. The bulbs are five each blue, gold and red; they can be mixed and matched, or as a solid color. The topper has a screw on the front - when unscrewed the topper has a base that can fit on the top branch of the tree; when the screw is replaced, the base will fit tightly on the branch. The topper is charming, and looks and works great. It is the same on both sides, so looks great from front and back. It measures 7" across (including the bulbs). The bulbs have all been tested. The topper and bulbs are rare in this condition. The little tag also gives the model number, Noma A-127, Made in USA.
Noma was most famous for their Christmas lights, holding many of the patents from the 1930\'s. When WWII came along, they were unable to make lights for a period of time as the raw materials were put toward the war effort. During this time the company turned to making wood and wood composite toys, in order to stay in business.
