For sale is an awesome vintage CRAGSTAN/ALPS Battery operated Toy. This is HIGH JINKS at the CIRCUS CLOWN With His Aerial Performing Chimp.***Attention toy collectors: you don\'t want to miss this one!This perfectly working 50s era battery driven motor toy is in my opinion MINT condition! I have come across a lot of these over the years and have never seen one quite this nice.
This particular model has a lot going on:
The clown blows a whistle, nose lights up red, movable head, and shakes his leg with a string attached causing the Ariel chimp extension to raise as the chimp balances on the rising extension and plays it symbols! Fantastic action!The paint is immaculate as well as the rest of the piece and the colors are vibrant.The only dust that could be cleaned easily is on the fabric of the Clown\'s outfit and maybe the monkey a little bit, but that\'s being very picky and with a piece of tape would look perfect as well.
Inspecting it overall and especially how clean the battery compartment is, I don\'t believe it\'s ever been played with. It came from a very nice & clean collection at an estate sale. The whole piece with chimp fully extended measures approximately over 2 ft. tall.
The clown itself measures approximately 11 inches tall. The Chimps extender attaches close to his hands with slip on tabs. Even the string is in perfect condition as most of these models the string has worn and needs repaired.The cover to the box is in very excellent near MINT condition. Again, the colors are very vibrant on the box. There is one corner with about a 2-inch tear but nothing is missing. There may be a couple of minor creases that are not real noticeable.
The brown bottom container is perfect.
