Wonderful and impressive vintage stein from Gerz. Featuring rich detailed castle scenes in a painted ceramic relief design, this piece also features an ornate handle and pewter/metal lid. The inscription under the couple reads \"Stolze Burgen schöne Frauen Goldner Wein u grüne\" which translates to \"Proud castle, beautiful women, golden wine, green pastures\".Stamped \"Made in Germany\" with the Gerz triangle maker\'s mark on bottom.

Measures 21 1/2\" tall to top of finial x 7\" diameter at base. Small areas of rub at base, not noticeable given the finish. Bright, vivid colors. No chips or cracks. Excellent vintage condition. From the estate of a stein collector.
