I am selling a collection of Yamaha Recording Custom drums for a friend. They are all birch shells in natural finish. I discovered, while cleaning and photographing them, that four of the drums have a signature on the inside, Hagi. I did a quick search and found that Hagi is Takashi Hagiwara. He was the lead guy and innovator for Yamaha back in the 1970s through the mid-2010s. Signature is guaranteed authentic or I will happily issue a refund. The hardware inside the drums has some oxidation from the drums being stored in a slightly damp environment between gigs but I don’t think it is too bad. The outer chrome hardware is nice, with typical light pitting here and there from use and age. I have a friend who is a professional musician (and a drum freak!!) check these out and they are all in-round. The bearing edges are all in great condition. This listing is for a Pre-YESS Mounting System, Yamaha Recording Custom, 6” by 5 ½” mini concert tom-tom in natural birch finish. The badge has model No ET-906GE and serial date stamp “IJ”. The code “IJ” identifies the letter “I” as 2 or 1982 (first letter of the code designates the last digit of the year) and “J” for the month, 3 or March. The badge style is that of the 1980s (all four corners are rounded). Please notice that this drum has an additional Dummy badge. It does not have any model or date stamping as the marked/stamped badge does. I was told that this was done so that the badge could be seen at multiple angles on the stage (Yamaha advertising). The badges have a pink color tone to them. The shell is in very good to excellent condition with only typical light wear from use and storage. This drum appears to have the factory stain/finish applied to the bearing edge. The chrome may have light pitting here and there, which is not unusual for a drum this old. The rims on this “IJ”-marked drum is stamped or pressed metal.

Even though it may seem that a four star rating is “good”, penalizes seller’s scores for less than perfect. will tell you, the buyer, that a rating of 4 stars (4.0 rating) is good but will suspend my selling rights if my average falls below 4.3. They are setting up sellers with unrealistic and unachievable minimums, thereby lowering seller’s rankings in searches and not qualifying for discounted seller’s fees.
