W&M Granger Victory Bamboo Fly Rod 8 1/2\' 3/2 8642 GORGEOUS:
$400.00

I am thinning my rod collection so I offer to you this beautiful Wright McGill era Granger Victory in apparently unused condition. Someone must have handled it a few times, but there\'s no evidence that anyone ever fished this beauty. The shafts are all original length and seem very straight. Rod assembles and feels fantastic, but I didn\'t press it together real hard and it wasn\'t totally mated. I usually don\'t fish most of my bamboo rods, so I never mated it completely. I think the ferrules just need a little polishing to perfect the fit. Five guides on the tips. (I believe some later ones only have 4) As far as I can tell, a little buffing on the ferrules(for fit) and tip tops(or maybe replace), and MAYBE polishing the varnish and this rod will be near perfect. Worst problem that I have found is the rust on the wire loops on the tip tops. I didn\'t find rust on any other guides. Other than some slight discoloration on the cork, this rarer than average 8 1/2\' specimen is pristine. The bottom stationary cap is missing from the tube, and the tube has a collection of scuffs and small dings and some paint overspray at the bottom, but overall, the blacking is not faded as some are and the label is clear as the day it was printed. The rod sock has a hole in the bottom allowing one shaft to fall out. Still not too bad for a rod, rod sock, and cardboard container that\'s probably 60 years old. Better get it while you can, these can\'t be getting any easier to find, especially in this condition.
