Sale of a WW1 SPARK GAP TRANSMITTERThis type was used in trench communication stations alongside an early generation receiver( no receiver included in this sale). Designed for 20 watts and operating in the 65 Metre band (5Mhz). They were also produced for 80 Metres (3.5Mhz.) but this is the 65 metre unit. The receivers were more commonly available after the war and were quickly bought up but the transmitters were much less in demand because of their function, and as a result they are extremely scarce. They can be found in a few Military museums and a few private collections. View the photos for a better idea of what it is. The actual size is 6 1/2 x 7 x10 1/2 inches and the actual weight is 11 lbs. The key shown in the picture of the side is in need of a pin to hold it in it\'s socket. otherwise the condition is as shown in the photos. No testing has been done and this should be considered a display item. No other parts supplied......what you see is what you get.
