Hand-made mountain dulcimer by Warren A. May. Crafted in Berea, Kentucky in 1993. Mr. May is a well known woodworker, creating not only dulcimers but fine furniture as well. He uses locally harvested woods, including walnut, cherry, and tulip poplar. I believe this piece is made of tulip poplar.

Hand-cut \"hummingbird\" soundholes, as well as his signature \"natural knotholes\". Unusual hourdrop body shape is of his own design. Mr. May has built over 17,000 dulcimers, and has been featured in Popular Woodworking, Fine Woodworking, and seen on HGTV and The American Woodshop. Anything we sell can be sent to you for a short approval period without obligation. We collect NO SALES TAX, unless you live in Kansas. The customer is responsible for shipping and insurance and must pre-pay back to us any freight and insurance charges on returned equipment. International shipping is available. Returned items will be refunded within 2 weeks of receiving the item. We’re happy to send any instrument “on approval” for five days, but ask the prospective buyer to pay shipping both ways. For credit card purchases only, we ask that you reimburse us 2.95% for restocking and cleanup on any returned instrument.
