Watling Rol A Top .25 Cent Antique Slot Machine. "May, 1934":
$2,425

Watling Rol-A-Top .25 Cent Twin Jack Pot. I am in NO hurry to sell this one since it weighs a ton to ship. I have reconditioned this machine. It was a wreck when I found. The center of the coin esculator was missing. Had to make one out of sheet Brass. It works most of the time ok but at times can hang up. I believe that might be caused more by modern quartersthan the center part. If you wish to replace, I have seen some available from internet sellers. The three reelsare original. One of the reels has a long scratch, but does not go through paper reel. I do not replace reels, like to always use originals. The small payout card is original. The information sheet on interior of back door is a reproduction as is the coin box. The back door lock/key are replacements. The yellow paint is super high grade spraytractor paint. Its there to stay. The wood sides were a wreck so I had to totally sand down, refinish, spray paint in grey stripes, etc.The wire glass over twin jack pot is a replacement, as is the round glass and reel glass. Watling decals on each side are reproductions. Slot mechanism works perfect. Really strong, fast spinning reels. I have not tested for jackpot/payoff. Has the anti-cheap, drill proof metal sheets on interior top and bottomwood, both sides, see photo #1. Really complicated mechanism, see photo #12. Just a nice oldTwenty-five Cent machine that would look good in your home or office and that your guest could play. As with all my listings I sell AS IS. PayPal only. I ship via Fed-Ex same day as payment. I will then e-mail tracking number and expected day of delivery. No PO Boxes. No sales outside lower 48 states. This includes Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, etc. Due to weight of this machine I am charging $200 for shipping or you can pick up for free. Most likely will ship in two boxes instead of trying to send in one box due to for E-Bay Warning on Slot Machines. Due to laws regulating the sale of antique slot machines, I, as the seller, will not sell to members in the states of Alabama, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Nebraska, South Caroline, and Tennessee. offers from members residing in any of these states will be DRAK'S OFFERS WELCOME

Have had a question as to if the wood cabinet is a reproduction. No. It is original that I found in terrible shape. Looks like someone dropped. Had to do some regluing to bottom, etc. I did not clean the interior wood. It has the original red Watling inspection tag on interior right side. I cannot make out the handwritting, numbers on card. The exterior bottom chrome coin trayarea I did not clean. It is in as found condition with minor ageblemishes. The side pull down handle is original, stamped- "WATLING MFG CO CHICAGO ILL". It came heavily rusted so I gently used extra fine steel wool to clean. All replacement items such as back door info sheet came from Krahl. The .25 brass button on coin wheel is original from Krahl. Once again, I found this Rol-A-Top metal and wood in heavily damaged condition. All glass was missing, back was mssing, as I remember top bonnet was missing, coin box was missing. The actual slot machine mechanism was in excellent condition with exception of missing center coin esculator part that holds coins in place as esculator accepts coins androtates. I made a new one from heavy brass sheet that I got from Home Depot- brass door kick plate.

As I remember, the back top bonnet was missing. I got a replacement bonnet from Krahl, but do not remember if it was an original or a reproduction. It fits to front metal cover VERY tightly, and in photo #4note that it does not fit flush with front.

NOTE, date on coin esculator back is "May, 1934". See photo #11. It is stamped near bottom of esculator housing, below the two wires that go into esculator. You can barely see in photo.

I have been ask if machine works correctly and pays out correctly. I HAVE NOT tested for paying out correctly. The machine is real strong and works great EXCEPT sometimes the center coin esculator hangs up. REMEMEMBER that when I first found this machine, it was missing the center coin esculator cover and I had to make one. From time to time it hangs up. I feel that this is more from new, modern quarters than the part I made. I have a friend over in central Florida who has a golf ball slot machine. He had a lot of trouble with a part burning out due to using modern golf balls. The balls were a hair larger than the old time original balls and thus caused more friction when trying to pay out, thus the part kept burning out. Replacing modern balls with old balls cleared up the problem. However, you can get the needed part from on line slot machine parts dealers like Krahl and it does not cost too much.

PS. The quarters pictured in Jackpots will be removed. However, I will leave the quarters in the round coin esculator. Just played machine and it worked perfectly.
