We are excited to bring you, from a local estate, this terrific Western Electric 50 AL candlestick rotary telephone with ringer box.  The back of the candlestick is marked 50AL.  We have included photos of the 50AL and the 2 markings on the ringer box. There are patent marks on the bottom front. The rotary dial spins and retracts like it should. There is newer felt on the bottom of the candlestick so it was replaced.  At some point this has been wired to use in more modern homes (see the cord for that).  Tucked inside the telephone, was a little orange flyer with the name of a man in Georgia who sold or worked on this phone in 2003 and charged $375 for it (please see that photo as well - it does provide his name and number but I did not show that in the pic for privacy).   We believe the handset cord, mounting cord and brown cloth line is a reproduction but we cannot be sure.   We are unable to determine if this has been repainted.  We do not believe that the phone is compatible with  VOIP, cable company or fiber optic networks - buyer is responsible for checking compatibility with your provider before purchase.
