Wharfedale Mach 9 Speakers: $750.00
Vintage pair of Wharfedale Mach 9 speakers from 1981-1982! The Mach 9s were top-of-the-line, a \"big deal\", and of very high quality back in 1981. Their quality has served them well and they are still in great shape now. They are 8 ohm, 94 dB efficient three-way speakers that you can put the power-to.
I went to the Internet to get some info:
From a Gramophone article in 1982:
Rank Hi-Fi, Wharfedale Works, Highfield Road, Idle, Bradford, West Yorkshire BDIO 8SF have launched a new MACH range of high-efficiency loudspeakers to replace their \'E\' Series. The high sensitivity rating of all models, 94dB for I watt at 1 metre, is mainly achieved by the special design and construction of the drive units. All four types employ a 25mm compression horn-loaded tweeter, with bass and mid-range units having lightweight fibre cones, ceramic magnets and ventilated aluminium coils. The bass reflex real-wood cabinets have modular front baffles made from structural foam styrene with open-weave steel-mesh grilles. Clip-on opaque grilles are also supplied and all the speakers have LED power displays, re-settable overload protection switches and tweeter level controls (plus midrange controls on the MACH 7 and 9).
