I have been collecting toy and model boats for over 20 years, and this is the only example of the particular boat I have come across. It\'s made of all wood, with metal trim, and is 16\" long, or 18\" when the rudder is deployed. It seems to be an older design and construction than most of the commonly seen boats of this era, late 40\'s to late 50\'s, and appears complete and original. The motor is untested, but will spin freely. Modern batteries seem to be a little to fat to fit under the deck in the battery holders. It\'s in good condition with some paint wear, and an obvious glue repair on the front of the cabin. At first I thought the cabin may be of later vintage due to the color difference, but at closer look the wood appears consistent with the rest of the toy. The boat comes with it\'s original wooden shipping crate. This is an unusual little battery op boat, most likely made in Japan and would be an excellent addition to any collection. The wooden stand is not included in the sale.
