WW2 German Etched Dress Bayonet with Frog & Portape - Dagger WWII :
$450.00

Very nice etched dress bayonet with frog and knot.
Note: No offensive symbols on this E.P. & S. design No. 11. Just scrolls and oak leaves.
Made by Ernst Pack & Sohne (E. P. & S.). No trademark but certainly Pack with their Etched design No. 11 using off-set rivets and spanner nuts on the grip Pack was known to use.
Small nick on top of blade (see Pics) otherwise the blade is exc+ to mint. No chips or cracks in the handle. Scabbard has not been re-painted and retains approx. 75% of original paint.
This bayonet has the citation of Nachr.– Abtlg 14 abbreviation for (Nachrichten-Abteilung 14) which was a Signal Division. I believe the Signal units were also responsible for rescuing downed pilots.
See the last 4 pictures from Wayne Techet’s book on German Etched Dress Bayonets. Page 163 shows Pack’s Design No. 11 and notes Pack and other makers did not always trademark their bayonets. Also note that bayonets with military citations like this one are more difficult to find than motifs without citations. Also Page 254 of the “Unattributed” section notes the off-set rivets and spanner nut combo favored by Pack and shows this No. 11 pattern with other unit citations like infantry, panzer, and reconnaissance. Many etched bayonets are post-WW2. This is guaranteed WW2 vintage.
