M1942 Canteen--3 Piece Variant--1943 Date

Original M1942 stainless steel canteen, early production three piece variant [threaded neck section, upper body section, and lower bodysection] with standard recessed black bakelite lid and steel chain. Well marked U.S./VOLLRATH/1943 on bottom. Lidfeatures Singer logoand date US-43 inside. Minor superficial dents to body and surface rust to chain but nothing affecting overall appearance or use, and a replacement cork gasket will be included with the canteen. Thethree piece version was produced for only a short time before the more common two piece version was introduced later in 1943.
