Up for grabs is a nice salty example of a Japanese pilots flotation flag which would have be used to signal rescue of a down Japanese pilot. The flag is approximately 74cm x 100 made of silk. There are three decent holes ranging from the size of a quarter to a fifty cent piece and a few smaller holes. The flag still has its tie strings intact. It is filled with segments of kapok around the entire perimeter of the flag that would make the flag float. This is the same material used for their life jackets.
