Up for offer, this WWII diveknife came from Subic Bay Naval Repair Yardnear ManilaafterU.S.forcesliberated the islands in 1945.A Filipino, workingat the repairyardgot the knife and it remained with his familyfor nearly 70 years.
Dive knives with markings such as Morse and KA-BAR are getting harder to find.
This vintage WWII \"Morse\" has an o/a length of just over 12 5/8\".Blade length is 6 3/4\".Sawback on one side, clean edge on the other. Has plenty of age discoloration..I left the blade and scabbard just as I found them. Blade appears to beun-sharpened.Grip is not cracked and looks like maple, with a nice dark finish.The brass scabbard has a drain hole at the bottom,a cast brass belt loop andweighs about 2 lbs. Scabbardhas considerable patina, is well marked and in nicevintagecondition.
The scabbard bears the correct WWII logo marking;
