Its also known as Esperanza,Yellow trumpet-bush, Yellow trumpet-flower, Ginger-Thomas,Trumpet Bush, Trumpetflower, Yellowbells and Yellow Elder. It has bright green opposite leaves,which are pinnate compound with 1-9 sharply pointed oval leaflets. The2-3\" long leaflets have sharply toothed edges. They are borne on veryshort petioles and are slightly hairy on the underside along the midrib and inthe vein axils. The smooth squarish twigs are green, turning tan or reddish tanas they age. The bark on the main trunk is light brown and becomes cork with age.The bright yellow 1-2\" flowers are trumpetshaped that hang in showy cluster at the branch tips and forks, bending thetwig into aches with their weight. There are two folds along the bottom of the flower\'sthroat and several delicate rust-red lines inside the flowers.
