The Schecter Omen 6 is a great value for the money. It has a wide tonal range but the tone knob is not subtle. Nor is the difference between pickups. On the plus side is ease of changing tone on the negative is a slight lack of discrimination in being able to dial in just the right tone. The fret ends could be dressed a bit better but that's something that can either be lived with or easily fixed in the garage. That being said, this guitar is great! Easy to play, love the 24 frets, great action, lots of crunch. Equal in value to an Ibanez SA Series - better than any Strat.
I had approached by wanting to be a dealer but that's not what I am I,m a very imaginative mathematician. so I buy seconds road warriors the beat up the better then in three weeks I straiten neck, file fret, slowly ea day tighten truss and string replace w tesla pots soviet oil capacitors change pick-ups on the warrriors. in short change all electronics install cobalt or dunlap heavy core. and its not a Volkswagen anymore its a hemi. with added active elec,s it a down right animal and stays in tune. the body is perfect the neck a little weak but with strong rt hand you can pull tone up or down bending neck. or I do sometimes install an ebony neck but I always start with schecter, I prefer basswood over mahogany body cause of bad back but a strong metal slinger the mahogany is stronger and holds sustain. Richard (hampstead) hello hanns keep in mind these guys continue to improve and these guitars are great straight out of the box, I just picked up my 28th my third walnut stained guitar from them I have a detailed plan on how I will alter, not because its ness. but because of all the possibilities the body unchanged holds sustain forever and I have to do the least to get the best. schecter is the guitar king of the world.Read full review
Thought I was getting a boat paddle and I WAS WRONG ! Bonafide, serious, electric guitar and unbeatable in the sub-$500 range in my opinion. Whats a lower cost guitar need to do for you ? #1. stay in tune = CHECK #2. have good tone =Check #3. have decent guts and be modifiable = CHECK. Schecter opens every box and sets up every guitar so no matter what price an actual guitar tech has MADE SURE that your axe is of excellent quality, no direct ship from some factory. I don't work for them but they are now my favorite guitar company. I cannot speak for the SGR version of this guitar but from what I've read they're very similar and I'm sure you can buy them also with real confidence. If you're like me and only have a little $ and would prefer NOT to waste it on a piece of junk, these guitars are FOR YOU as I suspect the whole Schecter line is !Read full review

Not sure if there was a hole in my collection, but better safe than sorry. Good feel on the neck, electronics good for the level. Thinking Hybrid strings for Drop D to C tuning. For appearance, absolutely beautiful natural wood. Inlays really pop. Again for the price, well worth it.

It is everything I was looking for at the right price. I love the set up. The action is just right. It is great for chording and for playing riffs. Sounds great through my amp.
