The 22w claim is a bit misleading (that's what it draws; its a reg 10w output) but this thing will exceed your expectations for sheer volume. The driven/boost channel sounds great with or without additional pedals in the signal chain. Pro Tip: make sure all your jacks and pots have their nuts & washers tightened; this completes the ground necessary to function properly. Lotsa ppl sell amps cheap because they don't know this.

This is a decent little package, the Squire Strat, gig bag, stand and an amp. I think most youngsters starting out might like something 'not' so traditional looking and they might like a little more edgy amplifier. Still that said there's plenty that can go wrong here, enough to discourage a kid starting off. I just bought this from a kid who bailed on the whole guitar idea and playing one. Needless to say the guitar was nowhere close to in-tune and he had the strings strung so taunt it must have made painful grooves in his virgin fingers tips attempting to play? It's not a Floyd Rose bridge, but still a vintage tremolo can present some real tuning headaches for someone unfamiliar with its operation and set up. The rosewood dot inlay fingerboards are boring, not to mention dried up, but to my surprise had a little flame in the maple. The single coil pick ups are a tad noisy with some serious distortion. Better you get him a humbucker in the rear/ bridge position. Still, if you want your kid to know you love him and that you support his angst to shred metal then you will likely buy him one of these get ups. That way when it's in the recycler for sale a year later, you can take solace in that you didn't lose a heck of a lot at resale. Besides he probably wants drums now and in the end he can trade the whole ball of wax for 2 used video games. True! LOL.Read full review
lightweight, easy to carry and maneuver, treble, bass and volume controls with separate input for a microphone. Input for one guitar or other instrument with a full 22 watts of power. Not big enough for use in a band setting.

This amp is a beginner amp. Nothing more, nothing less. Anybody trying to pull more than about $20 for a used one of these (no matter how great of a condition it’s in) is trying to fool you. To the ear of somebody who’s used some half decent budget amps, this thing sounds like garbage. Don’t buy it unless your kid needs something to start off with. And if you do, buy it cheap cuz you can and should. $50 is WAY too much to ask. $20 max is what i’d pin this at. :)

this is a great little practice amp. I was surprised at the volume it can put out. Light weight and easy to move around. Got my monies worth!
