Unfortunately, since I bought my new Snow Joe, it hasn't snowed a flake in West Michigan. But we are looking for heavy snow this coming Thursday, so hopefully I'll get a chance to try it out then. It did ship very quickly (arrived a day early), and was securely packaged. My only beef was with the directions - some of the diagrams (specifically, where the washer goes on the chute) were not very clear. But that's a minor issue. I feel like I got a great deal. I have a Snow Joe power shovel, which has held up really well through six winters. I was just tired of having a corded shovel (you always have to be careful not to run over the cord), plus it only blew snow in one direction - straight ahead! Not too practical, but it worked okay for all these years. Looking forward to using my new snowblower soon. It appears to be well-built, and from my past experience with Snow Joe I know it will be a dependable product.Read full review

Got to use this item for the first time today and it did throw snow. It was very light fluffy snow and when I went out it was about 3". Didn't have any problems on the first passes but my driveway is three cars wide and it did not have the power to throw the snow in to the yard, but honestly I didn't expect it to. However when I reached the last few passes on the edge of the driveway, I had to shovel because the previously thrown snow was compacted and was clogging up the chute. Overall though it was less work than shoveling the whole driveway so in a way it's a victory. My biggest problems were that the cover that protects the battery from the flying snow would not stay shut. I believe the clasp was broken when I received it as it was a reconditioned unit. Another problem was that the electric chute motor was getting froze up. Late in to the job, I could not maneuver the chute to aim it where I wanted. I'm assuming that some moisture got in to the gears and motor was not strong enough to overcome the jammed gears. This seems like a poor design. An engineering flaw and I would hesitate buying anything Snow Joe again because of this flaw.Read full review

This has some nice power for battery operated. Need to be patient and push it through which only makes it good for 4-6" snows max. Don't expect to clean out a blizzard ravaged neighborhood with this thing. That is not what it is meant for. Anything 6" and up i go for the gas powered. This is so easy to drag out for the lighter snowfalls and blow back in clean ups it is wonderful to have. Times used this year.... snowjoe-----7 large 8hp gas------1

It can remove snow nearly as well as a one stage gas type blower. I only used it twice, once in a 7 inch snowfall and the second in a 3 in snowfall. The battery lasted all the way through the removal. My driveway is a 2 car approx. 24 x 60.

This blower is well designed and does a great job. It has the tendency to load up with a hard pack of snow every few feet. That problem is overcome by simply spraying the throat with WD40. Then you can do a very large area without choking until you need to spray again. I bought a second battery as the one that comes with it only lasts for about 35 minutes till a recharge is needed. There are other blowers on the market that are more powerful and last longer on a charge but they are far more expensive and much heavier. I'm quite satisfied with this unit and highly recommend it.
