So I knew going into this that the model was not 1/72 but the model was fairly cheap and at about 7" long that still makes it like a 42 foot ship for 1/72 so I thought I might see what I could do to make it look better. I made some modifications, additions, and omissions of parts to make it look like what I would consider and Island hopper ship, meant to be fast and light but not one to live at sea on. I cur the bottom off for a waterline version which is not part of the kit. I took out the forward deck house and even a set of sails to make the others look more prominent and free up some deck space. The steering wheel comes up just above the waist making some of it almost believable. But the guns are small, and some of the doors and windows would be a tight squeeze for someone. and some areas have very little side railings. I just pretend the cannons are just some buck shot meant to tear up sails and not really have heavy armaments, as the idea was to incapacitate a ship to get the goods. Overall the model is well done and has good detailing and little if any flash. As a stand alone model it has a lot of charm for being kind of the chiche pirate ship example, for 1/72 it kind of works with some imagination and fun but let the pictures tell that story. This is supposed to be 1/72 scale, but actually closer to 144. Very simple and easy to put together, no challenge for someone with average modeling skills. I didn't recommend it because I was looking for a 1/72 scale ship and this not what I got.
