I bought it used but it works Great. Has a hi med & low setting. Hi makes a noise not loud but still can hear it if you to hear it. Med does not make a sound. Low you think it's off. There is an ionizer switch. It works Great and I use it in my office. Take about 12 minutes to clean entire air in office. It's to big for a small bedroom but it would work Great the smaller the room. It removes smoke, pet odor, pollen, ragweed and other allergies that are in the air. Would recommend this product to family.

I love this unit for my bedroom. I smoke and have a cat. This is the only room I smoke in. It seems to do a great job! The only problem is it seems I have to change the filter more often then the product says, but it is still a good unit. It is a little noisy on high, so when I go to bed I turn it down to normal and it doens't make as much noise as a fan going.
My Holmes HAP 240 has just died and now I am scrambling to find another. This excellent product lasted for 20 years cleaning a large room. It didn't do a great job as the room was much too big for the product, but it really helped. It sure was a scrapy little product; kind of a David versus Goliath battle except my big room killed it after 20 years. I am really upset that this product seems to be on its way out- at least in our local stores.

I’ve had one of these for years and years...and was so happy to find one still available. Now one for upstairs and one for downstairs. I’ve never begrudged the cost of filters because this does such an outstanding job of removing odors and particles from the air.

We purchased this air purifier to replace an older more loud one in our daughter's room. This is the perfect size to fit on her dresser and not take up a lot of room. It is quiet on any setting and the ionizer is great! We love this air purifier!
