My previous 70 pints dehumidifier failed after one 4 month season. This unit is doing a great job so far this two months. If it through next season it will be 100% better than my previous unit. That said the controls on this model designed better than my old one. It has more control over the humidity levels with more settings for fan speed and how it runs. It keeps my 1000 sq ft basement where my washer and dryer reside at a constant 42% where I set it.

It is effective when set on continuous, when a percent is used, it does not run - the old Frigidaire next to it set at same percent does, so this 1 must be left on continuous. The last same Frigidaire 70 Pt, had to be refunded as it would not operate. The old 20 Yr. plus Frigidaire keeps on going.

Got this as a remanufactered unit for a deal and love it. Very effective and quick at drying an occupied space. I run this along with my central unit fan on humid days and it does a terrific job maintaining the entire home. I say its not quiet because I run mine on high full time, but it's a constant white noise so I'm not bothered by it. It sits on wheels so it's very mobile, not limited to one area. The water bucket pops right out with an included handle to make disposal a breeze. Can also attach a garden hose to the exit fitting if you wish to have it drain via gravity (no pump.) The timer is useful for when I need it to shut off at a certain time at night or start up before I wake up in the morning. Operation is basically worry-free as it will automatically shut off, beep and alert you if anything's wrong like a full water bucket or dirty air filter. It has been wonderful at removing the moisture. however the fan is quit noisy. It does have three fan speeds and is of coarse quieter at low speed. But you also are going to move less air. In all fairness I don't know how much noise other brands make. It is moving air through the whole house approximately 1600 square feet. Very happy with the purchase and would recommend buying. Noise vs water damage and mole no contest.

I have 2 of these. Really helps keep the humidity down in my house. I used 1 for about 5 years and it worked great. I decided to add a 2nd one so I wouldn’t have to empty them so often. The 2nd one is a little louder than the first one. (Could be because it’s in a room with no carpet). They really do a good job. If one breaks, I’ll buy another just like it.
