I own an Elad FDM Duo and 8 watts is all it will do.....and is fine for QRP operation. There are times though that you will need more power and this amp is perfect for that. 80 meters is very competitive as far as band space goes and running QRP in the high static summer is problematic. Turn this amplifier on and no problem with static or QRM. I get great audio reports and even though this amp is not FCC type accepted yet, it is very clean with no distortion. I hear where RM Italy is going to get it FCC approved. I set this amp on auto and putting a carrier through it will turn the amp to the correct band, If there is SWR higher than 2:1, it will warn you with a beep. Pretty simple and so easy. The things I love about this amp......when it is on, it is very quiet, most of the time. I've gotten 480 watts out using an LP100 digital watt meter to measure. Really easy amp to hook up......just two power wires and the in and out coax cables. No grounding needed but I still added a ground cable....force of habit I guess. The one thing I do not like about this amp is that when running the amp for extended time, the fans go faster and make a whining sound that drives me nuts. I was able to change out the three small fans with one larger Noctua NF-F-12 computer fan that makes almost no noise at all. I would recommend this amplifier to anyone who is looking for an extra kick for those QRP rigs or for any transceiver that can go down to 5-10 watts. I love this amp.Read full review

The HLA 300 V plus Is exactly what i expected. It makes my signal get above the noise level and break pile ups. Is compact and easy to use. With just 15 watts in, I get 300 watts out, but I don't push it all the time, I keep it at 12-13 watts and it's been working great. I'm glad I bought it. 73 N4DER

This 45W amp is a great addition to any ham or CB Radio (check legality in your area) enthusiast who really wants to get the most out of their rig! This is a reasonably priced linear RF Amp that works up to the 30MHz range and has quick and stable performance. My transmit range has at least doubled or tripled since using it! Just remember to check your modulation, mic, and antenna set up. Using an amp boosts your transmit signal...but if your signal is bad and full of interference then you'll also amplify the problems! Make sure the radio you transmit with has a clear modulation....that you can be understood well in its range and that you have a good mic. Tinker with your setup and then once you've tuned it up as best you can, add this amp to it and you'll be amazed how far you can reach! Remember, in some countries you can't legally use this on the CB band. Check your local regulations to be sure if you need a permit, licence, or if use is allowed. Again, this is a great first time amp. Not super super powerful, but cheap and great for giving your transmission that extra boost!Read full review

The linear amp delivers 30 watts and was what I needed to transmit on 10metter. If you go larger power amps you need to upgrade your power supplies to handle them.
