This unit plays back those SLP Mode tapes better than any other VCR ever made. I have utilized these machines since the middle 90`s. I have never found another VCR which tracks and plays back problem tapes better than these Toshiba 6 head units. I recorded tapes for many years as well and when played back upon the same machine those tapes still look as good as the day I recorded them.
