This tent is very lightweight. It appears to be very well put together. I bought it for my son to go on backpacking trips with the scouts. I like the way this tent is designed, and it has a lot of room for its size and weight. If you are six-foot tall or taller you might want to consider the 1.5 version. I like this tent so much, that I planted by the 1.5 version for myself.

When my old Eureka finally "gave up the ghost" last summer it was time to get a new tent. So much has changed since the spring of 1969 with respect to tent styles and quality. In some regards my old tent was made of better nylon, but it came with the price of being heavy. What I have found so far is this. It is easy to set up if you stake it down completely before you do anything else. I wish the floor on the ALPS 1.0 would be made with a sturdier nylon. Perhaps a coat of floor refinish may be in order for this model or most likely I will make a footprint for it out of Tyvek. What I really like the most is that there are two "doors and they are on the side of the tent which makes it very easy to enter and exit especially for an old camper like me. The netting is on the fine side and I cannot comment on its durability, but it is an early concern for me. Other than that, the tent should last me the last years of my hiking and camping. I really like the full coverage of the fly, but I wish ALPS would have chosen a dark color for the fly rather than the orange. This is just me being picky. Ever try to sleep in under a tent with a light color fly during a full moon? I bought the 1.0, but in hindsight, the 1.5 may have been the better purchase. It is 6 inches wider and a foot longer, but you would have better storage inside for a pack or a dog. The vestibule on the 1.0 is adequate, but that is all it is. My large 90L High Sierra, does not fit well in the tent with me. I am a true 6 footer and the interior is fine, but not so fine with a large pack or large dog. The one thing that I really like is the fact that I can sit up on the inside and change clothes without too much difficulty. That is what I hated most about my old Eureka, it had almost no room to sit up and change. You would think that after a couple hundred nights, I would have gotten used to that, but I never did. I like this tent. The quality is better than I expected. It is light weight and does compress reasonably well. If I were to buy another one again, I would splurge and get the 1.5.Read full review

Quality seems good; on heavy side for minimalist backpacking solo. Have not tried in rain yet. Poles are nice and small pegs light and super strong.

This tent I have not used. Compact, light and easy to use. Takes up little space in your backpack. There windproof skirt, tent pegs.
Hi, The tent is not self standing, not easy to mount in place, the water proof cover is hard to install. In face I will never use it and if I could return it for a full credit I would gladly do so. I took it out of its' original packaging but never used it. Ziv Zaretsky
