I play acoustic guitar, always solo, no vocal. I was looking for a PA system that can reproduce guitar well. This system is perfect. The sound is very clean and clear, reproduces every nuance and covers the full audio range of an acoustic guitar faithfully. There is enough power for a gymnasium or a small park for background. The EQ is useful but I do not have to tweak much. Reverb is excellent, good match for guitar. Portability is great and setting up takes just a few minutes. I wish the aux input has an RCA connection (it has 1/4" jack) but I found a 1/4 - 1/8 stereo cable for my iPod. The input is limited two channels, enough for me. If you need more, you'll need a separate mixer and send the signal in. COmpared to Bose system, this system sounds cleaner to me. Bose is EQ'ed heavily. That makes vocal sounds punchy but not ideal for acoustic guitar (classical; jazz; instrumental). Wish list: A remote control (wired or wireless) so I can adjust the volume from where I sit. If I stand right next to it to adjust, it may feed back. In short, I am very satisfied and recommend this to my friends.Read full review

I tried ordering a used on of these. When it arrived I was very disappointed because the unit would not light up and not sound other than the hiss of the speakers came out. I called Fishman and got right through to the tech. He recommended that I open it up and check to see if a ribbon connector had come loose, but to no avail. I sent it back. Then I got a new one that did light up, but it was intermittently cutting down power. Again I talked to the tech who gave me permission to open it up and check the wiring. I have had some experience with that sort of thing and I was able to find a loose connection. That said, this unit is pretty awesome I own a Bose system as well, but wanted something a little smaller to bring on small to midsized venues. I have been testing it out at home and it sounds pretty awesome. It is worth the money I paid.Read full review
A great solo amplifier. It will handle more than one performer with a small mixer. Extra features make it very versatile. The best unit for the price. The quality is built in. I compared and this is the one I recommend.

The SA220 is perfect for my solo, duo and even larger band gigs using two of them to cover four mics. I love these PA’s!!!! Bill

If you're anything but a 4 piece rock band, this is the system for you. It is set up for a solo performer using just 2 channels. I've added a small 4 channel mixer to run the vocals. I also run a drum machine through the aux input in the back. all total I have 5 pieces running through the SA220,and it sounds great. It also sets behind us and acts as monitors which is great because we hear what the audience hears. Very easy to transport and set up. I just love this thing!
