Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Routers
there are two 6040 designs on sale right now. this one costs more and has what i hoped would be a better controller and the aluminum isn't painted. It was well packed in a large- heavy cardboard box and arrived 4 days before schedule. They included two collets and a number of cutters and instructions for setting it up and launching Mach3. I use LinuxCNC and had already set up a CNC mill so I was pretty much prepped for this installation. basically it was find a place to put it, build a tank out of a 5 gallon bucket for the cooling water, set up LinuxCNC to drive it and off and running. I did check tightness of all fasteners (plenty tight) and opened the controller where I found the wiring well sized, and neatly laid out. The VFD needs documentation. It is a NOWFOREVER E-100. You can find and download the manual online. I checked all the settings on it and found it set up correctly although I would raise minimum speed to protect the electronics. I had a desk-side PC running Linux which has two parallel ports, one of the mill and one for the router - works fine. parallel port on a laptop might seem to work but will skip steps and mess up your work - because of the way the operating system is set up for laptops to run on batteries. So it is running and I am delighted. Think dust. I made a dust shoe for it connected to a shop vac. If you don't do this and cut much wood you won't recognize your shop after a few hours of operation. I found this entirely suitable to my requirements. seller is pretty nice. They've emailed me twice to see how it's going. no problems whatever.Read full review
