Unfortunately I'm not using these in a live audio scenario, I use these @home in my rehearsal/recording room. I have owned the HD1531, K8, and JTR Triple 12 and listened to the KW153's. The JTR's were the best I've heard until the 315ai. I own the Presonus Sceptre 6's and there are definitely similarities between the two. I set these up with TrueRTA and a Behringer ECM8000 mic (cal loaded) and in my room, with 9 2'x4' acoustic panels they came up relatively flat. With mostly subtractive EQ changes (a little low end bump for fun and the lack of a sub) they sound amazing. You can really crank up the volume without them sounding harsh; really it's deceptive how loud they are. To get a little more specific, they image very well, much better than I would expect for a PA speaker. Lots of mid and higher detail without harshness, just fun to listen to. Bass is extremely acceptable for a 15" driver; I don't miss the sub too much but I plan on getting a sub at some point. I might do a SPL test at some point when I feel like they are broken in; I will update the review if I do. One last thing, the SL Room Control software is a little basic but has great tools for setting the speakers up. Thanks for reading!Read full review
