For years, I used the smaller 6 cup Brita water filter. It was not convenient to fill it up each time because you could only pour enough water to fill a third or a fourth of the pitcher, then you'd have to WAIT for that water to filter down before you could do it again. After awhile, I noticed I didn't use the pitcher very much, sometimes for weeks. With the 18 cup dispenser, you can actually pour quite a bit of water into the container each time. You still have to wait for the water to trickle through the filter, but you don't have to repeat the process everyday. If you live alone like me, 18 cups can last you a few days. The other convenient thing about this filter is that you don't have to buy new filter size cartridges. Simply pop the filters from your 6 cup pitcher into this one, and you're good to go. As a result, I'm drinking more water and my coffee and tea always tastes better with filtered water. The only con I think of is the price tag, about $30 to $40, but because you don't need to buy bottled water now so often, the savings will add up over time. Also, as long as you have the cartridges, all you need is water. In this way, you save the landfills from getting more bottles. Read full review

But as it turns out, the brita tank is very lightweight when emptied and not as difficult to fill as I thought. We have a pitcher that we fill with water and fill the tank while it is in the fridge. I have a sulfur allergy and the water in my area has to be filtered before I can drink it. Because of that, I pretty much lived off of soda. With the pitcher, however, I can have water and even tea! We're considering getting a second to stay on the counter for making hot drinks!

This is a good product and I got it to replace Brita pitcher to clear up some space on table. I put it on wall shelf and it works just fine. However, it seems that you can't pour water up to the top as filter itself pops out each time. Once it popes out, unfiltered water starts licking in to the filtered. Now if I want to pour water to the top level I need to use some kind of heavy object that can be put on top of the filter to keep it in place.

This is great! I love that I can go to the fridge for water and pull the spigot for easy use. I also love that I am not constantly having to refill it. Glad I bought it!

We've had the Brita pitcher for a while and constantly had to fill it up, after one cup it seemed. This dispenser works great since it fits nicely in the shelf in the fridge and has a dispenser on the front so you can just fill your cup up.
