It's a great value for the money. It's a little clunky and not real precise but it fit my needs great. You can spend a good bit of money on a milling vise but this one will suffice most home users.

Tolerances are a bit coarse but adequate for my projects. Handy size and easy to mount under drill press. This unit works fine for me but spend a little more if you need high precision.

I was skeptical about buying this vise because of the low price, when it arrived today I was shocked how heavy it was first of all, secondly I was surprised at the quality for the price. The vise is something I will be able even to do some light milling that a common drill press is capable to do. I was going to buy a Wilton that was on sale for about $150 but I thought I would give this vice a try. The vise was very inexpensive and I could always use for something else if the quality was not there or had movement in the slides. I am very pleased as it is tight without any play and there are also adjustments to tighten any play that arrives after use. I can tell once the vise is lightly greased it will work for what I need it for. I am not at all saying that it has the quality/durability or is it nearly as smooth as a vise like a Wilton. So if you do that type of work by all means invest in a one time purchase like a Wilton, I have worked with tools all my life and at the age of 62 I would highly recommend this device. It may not be for a daily user but for someone that uses it once in a while I would highly recommend it. As you can see in one of the pictures the bottom crank handle can touch the base of your drill press and this would be a problem if you were using on a larger flat table as the handle does not slide for clearance. I am going to change all three slide crank handles so that a ratchet is used instead, something like tack welding a small 3/8 cheep socket to each end. Adjustments will be much easier and quicker. The vice stands 5 inches tall so you may want to make sure you have the proper clearance. The base overall length is 9 inches with a width of 6 inches the handles stick out further as that is just the size of the base. The jaws 4 inch wide jaws open to 3 1/2 inches and with the project that you are working with, the vise is very stable with out being bolted down to the drill press, even at extreme adjustments. I would not recommend extreme tightening or hammering as this device most likely will not take that type of abuse. Hobby users and light products this vise will excel, heavier metal workers that need to tighten a product to the extreme, get a Wilton. I do light welding and everything else from cars, European motorcycles, washing machines and anything else around the house or garage. I plan on doing a little greasing and changing the bolts to a hardened hex head for appearance and then install it on my drill press. The price about $ 40 is a very good deal, as I think it should be selling more like 79 dollars. 12/03/19 Jimmy E Pawleys Island, S.C.Read full review

Castings are very rough and the ways are just rough milled. The lead screws are acme thread but there are no bearing or oilite bushing to take up any load. Because the ways aren't true they use a 4" peice of flat stock behind the set of three set screws on each axis to take up the slop. Basically you true up each axis by adjusting the set screws. Right out of the box I would say the is about 80% finished and all you gotta do is stone all the ways, get some thrust washers for the lead screws, make a silicon bronze slider to replace the flat stock slider, dial indicate everything and you got your self a x y vise for $40 that's accurate to about .010" if you take your time. For the price you cant beat it. The person that would need an x y table is the type of person that can easily make this thing run.Read full review

Shipping was fast but the drill press vise arrived broken, it's unsurprisingly made of cheap and brittle cast metal. I'm trying to fix now with epoxy, otherwise it would have been an okay value for light work. Rotating handles need to be put on before use, but they're easy screws. Needs adjusting/oiling before use like other reviews say.
