This is an old vintage wooden paddle that has been signed by the students who got "whoopings". It's even signed on the sides and features a few drawings. The handle is wrapped in green tape probably for gripping and the paddle end is wrapped in what I think is old masking tape. That was to prevent a student getting splinters. I remember that. This paddle is not broke. The tape is a little lose on the handle but no biggie. There is the name Mr. Jones and Robert Jones on the handle. That may have been the teacher. All I know is the paddle came from the North Mississippi area to maybe around Memphis. It measures 24 inches long.
