My Setup so far
Here's what I have so far. I've had it up and running for a bit now but it seems it's project after project. I'm using a Verti-Gro system and playing with a few other things as well
Getting ready http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03045.jpg Going up http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03049.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03056.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03058.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03062.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03143.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03144.jpg Injector Board http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...DSC03060-1.jpg |
This is going to take several posts
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03147.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03237.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...e/DSC03237.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...e/DSC03239.jpg You might be able to see that the top has a center vent in this pic http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...e/DSC03225.jpg Here's more of the injector system http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03495.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03438.jpg |
Started building a building around the injector board
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03474.jpg Figured out I needed to start all my own seeds so http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0268.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0266.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0270.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0276.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0279.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0277.jpg Got the building mostly done http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0295.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0302.jpg |
I wanted to try growing some stuff outside too
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03327.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03301.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSC03330.jpg It worked pretty well the hardest part was providing the right amount of nutrients with wasting a bunch http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0007.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0060.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0055.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0103.jpg Hydroponic Corn http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0095.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/DSCN0056.jpg |

I have another new system that I'll try to get some pics of in the next couple days

I haven't looked at all your posts yet (it's a long thread), but did you know you can post up to 20 pictures in each post without making it a mile long?
When creating the post scroll down to about the middle of the page, and in the "Additional Options" section just click on the "manage attachments" button. Then just click on the browse button to attach the pictures. It shows five openings at a time. Attach the first five, then the second five once the first five have uploaded, and so on until you reach the limit of 20 pictures. They become thumbnail images at the bottom of your post, but when clicked on they expand to the full size picture. That keeps the page/s from being a mile long. Not to mention much easier to navigate the different pictures. |
I would like to know more about how your injector system works? Also how your poly film holds up in high winds?

Actually I like the larger pics it's a pain to have to click on every photo to see them |

So far the clips are holding the plastic alright but I did have to put a screw into each clip to keep them from popping off |
How do the injectors know how much to inject?

Very impressive Piney!
I am curious to hear if this project is "for market", and if so how is it going? Love the setup, are those injectors from crop king? Todd |

Gps here's a picture of the adjustment on the injectors you pull a lock pin and screw it up or down to where you want it set at then put the pin back in

Here's my latest system it is a recirculating system and while have I sugar and snow peas in it right now my main purpose in getting it was for lettuce production.

Love the set up. Where did you get your greenhouse? We're looking at getting something a bit bigger then we had last year.

Does your nute tanks seem to stay a decent temp? Big problem i had last year was my temp's hit 100. And we're renting so i can't put the system in the ground.
|
The insulation helped with the temps quite a bit. With the injector board the nutrients are always mixed with well water so that helps with temps as well

How does that Styrofoam hold up? Also are those numbers on the injectors in mL? Am I to assume they have a internal flow censor that can tell the amount of water flowing through it (can you test it's accuracy?)? Even so, you would still need to know what concentration each mL of the nutrient has for the right concentration to be dispensed. Or is it trial and error? If you don't mind me asking, how much are the injectors? I know they must be expensive, but I'm just wondering. Considering your setup I'm guessing you spent over $20,000 easily for everything (greenhouse, growing containers etc..). According to Virti-gro's website a 500 plant system runs about $7,000 alone. I would at least hope those Styrofoam containers have a lifetime warranty.
|
The pots seem to hold up well they also help insulate. The injectors do have numbers on the bottom for adjusting. Verti-Gro gave me the intial setting for the injectors using the nutrient mix I was using and they were right on tho you could tweak it by testing the nutrients with a meter. Not sure about the cost of just the injectors I bought the whole board already built and it was around 1500 but these are the larger injectors they do make smaller ones.

Piney, looks good, I have one question for you if you would please, How is the connection made from the 1/4 drip tube to the pvc pipe? Thank you, Andre
