Dutch Bucket Spacing
 

I built a stand/table for my outdoor Dutch bucket (drip) setup. I discovered it is long enough for 5 (5 gal) buckets on each side if I have them nearly touching one another. I plan on growing indeterminate tomatoes, Jalapeno peppers, and bell peppers. Will that be to close together? Should I plan on only 4 per side?

Hello budbon,
A five gallon bucket is about 11 inches wide. By placing them so that they are touching, your saying that you don't expect your plants to get more than 11 inches wide. Those must be bonsai varieties. Most bush type pepper plants can easily grow 3-4 feet wide. If you plan on growing full size pepper plants, I would place them at least 2 to 3 feet apart.

And indeterminate tomato's... Well I built a box trellis 8 feet wide, 8 feet long, and 8 feet tall out of PVC tubing and floral tape strung between the PVC (I've also used 1x2's). That was for just 4 plants. I've had indeterminate tomato plants grow as tall as my garage before (15 feet), and so wide I had to trim a tunnel under them to get to my gate.
