Weed Block
 

I found at Lowes A thing called -Weed Block- it is a black plastic roll of screen and the holes are so small they wont let roots grow threw it, but water and Air flow ok ,I was thinking Of using it in the 11 Plant garden - Its strong But It will rip- I am thinking of just stuffing some in the soda bottles and put the lava rocks in it - make a little bag of lava rocks in the soda bottles

The weed block is used by land scapers to keep weed out of flower gardens

Do you think this will be ok or do you think I should still use some type of cup or mesh pot

Yes that will work. I also use old nylon shade cloth.
