stainless steel faucet screens

Ron would you see a problem with using stainless steel faucet screens for a type of preventive method for keeping bits and pieces of lava rack out of my reservoir also, is it ok to use sch. 40 pvc pipe for the 11 plant garden Thank you for your time

No problem you couldn't use anything better than stainless steel.
You can use sch. 40 except for the eleven 1 inch pieces of sch. 26 that the bottle caps fit into.
