the theory of the ebb/flow system

Hi Ron , Ready to start a 11 pot system but i am still confused on the theory of the ebb/flow system. Is he pump supposed to just fill the system in this 15 min. on cycle ,or is it supposed to quickly fill up and have a flow of the nutrient solution over the roots, and if so can there be to high of a volumetric flow rate which will damage roots?

Yes the pump fills the garden for 15 minutes until it turns off and drains and no the roots do not suffer volumetric flow rate, what ever volumetric flow rate is. Like I need something else to worry about.
