Lettuce seeds yellowing

Hi there, I have a lettuce seedling that was doing great under a fluorecent lamp using t8 bulbs... now I noticed that leaves are getting yellow and burn on the tips.. could the light be to close?

Sounds like it's quite possible, although:

1. How close are the lights?
2. What is the air temp at the tops of the plants?
3. What is the temp at the roots?
4. Are you using any nutrients on the seedlings?
5. How big are the seedlings?
6. Are the roots too wet?
7. What is the pH?

P.S. do you have any pictures of the problem?

I put T8's right on top of lettuce and no tip burn, it sounds like nutrients could be too high. I use a EC of no more than 1.2 on lettuce with great results.

Ok guys... here its why I was doing wrong.. terribly wrong....

Its the stupid stuff that can let to disasters... It was the nutrients... I WAS NOT USING hydroponics nutrients for the seedlings... I was using nutrients for soil plants... its so simple I have to hit myself in the head...

Sure the seedlings started great with that.. but then they started to grow and needed more nutrients that I was not providing!!!!!

They are ready to transplant.. Ill be doing that tomorrow....

thanks for all the help...
