air stone in an ebb and flow system
 

I was wondering if i need an air stone and pump if i am using an ebb and flow system. I have my system so i have to raise the bucket to water and lower to drain. When i drain don't it suck air down to the roots???? Thanks

An air stone is a cheap way to make sure your roots are getting enough oxygen. And yes flowing water creates oxygen in the water. The more movement the more oxygen.
