looks like an environmental issue to me
I have a display set up at a future farm market site
they are having issues with the heating system [high effencie space heaters]
the burner wasn't lighting all the way and was dumping raw natural gas into the area
the leaves look the same and also killed off blossoms
once the problem was corrected they are doing fine now
