You lift the plant out of the 2-liter bottle, ( that's why you use the solo cups with holes ) about every week or so and clip off any roots heading down the pipe. If the plants are watered often enough the roots won't have to go looking for water. If they get hopelessly clogged then empty the garden and use liquid plumber to dissolve the roots, then flush with a hose.
If that don't work, then get the f*ucking hack saw out and start sawing the c*ck s*cking b*tch in pieces and extract the roots and use 1" couplings to glue it back together. Better yet don't glue them encase it happens again.
