how far from the plants should i have my lighting fixture.

hi, i did a search on this already, but i didnt find anything that helped me out. how far from the plants should i have my lighting fixture. right now it is about 2ft away, but im wondering what is optimal. thanks campy

2 ft. is fine With glass in your hood and ventilation you could go closer.
