lime in the water

ron can you use lime in the water to keep the right ph like in soil or is it better to use the up or down i thought lime mite be easy since i have no tester thanks

I had the same thought and I added a little lime to my tank where I am using Miracle-Gro. Here are some recent pictures of my plants in my pool gallon garden. I might never buy hydro solution again. Ron
