Default PROPER pH FOR BASIL

I WAS WONDERING IF YOU KNOW THE PROPER pH FOR BASIL. I RECENTLY SET UP A NFT SYSTEM AND STARTED BASIL seeds. I SET MY SEEDS INTO 1.5" ROCKWOOL CUBES AND PUSHED THEM TO THE BOTTOM OF THE POTS. I WAS HOPEING SOMEONE COULD TELL ME IF THIS IS CORRECT.

In my book Gardening at a Glance by Tanya Denckla she recommends a pH of between 5.5 to 7.0 for Sweet Basil.
