Default Newbie / Flower ideas / System suggestion / Fertilizer recommendations.

Hi Everyone;

I am looking to start growing vegetable indoors during the winter (lettuce, tomato, onion, carrots, garlic etc.). I want to get into Hydroponics. I am going to grow into the hobby and expand over time as it becomes more and more serious.

First Hydroponics Flower:
I thought the first project could be to grow a beautiful flower for the wife using hydroponics. Any suggestions?

Fertilizers:
I was going to buy Potassium Sulfate, Epsom Salt, Chelated trace elements. Potassium Nitrate is a restricted component in my country. I believe I can substitute for Calcium Nitrate? Should I add anything else?

Culture System:
I have been going back and forth on a standard water culture system (air pump and air stone) -OR- Kratky. Does anyone have thoughts on that?

I was going to start with:
1. Phlixon 600w led Full spectrum;
2. Hydrofarm Net Cups – 2 inches;
3. Unused food containers 5L in volume (later switch to storage bins).
